Honoring Loss: An Evening of Restorative Yoga, Poetry, Reiki and Ritual Around Death, Grief and Sadness.
On Thursday November 1st, alongside Day of the Dead, Reiki Master Nicole Lynne Hooley and Poet/Creative Healing Mentor Kerri Lowe will lead a special restorative yoga class and ritual around death, grief and loss.
Nicole will be leading participants through restful, restorative yoga poses and giving 1-on-1 reiki, while Kerri will be reading from her new chapbook of poetry, KEEP BOTH MY EYES. This collection spans the ages twenty-five to twenty-seven, when Kerri lost several grandparents and loved ones. The tiles nods to the difficulty of looking with both eyes at the process of aging, dying, and all of the feelings loss brings to those who are living.
There will be an altar where messages to loved ones that you have lost can be placed and honored, as well as any pieces of your life that have dissolved in the past year. You may also want to honor and release habits, addictions, relationships, and thought patterns that are no longer serving your highest purpose and expression.
Trigger warning. Some of the material includes mentions of suicide and obviously, death. This will be a healing space and your heavy emotions are certainly welcome, just do take care of yourself in choosing whether the experience will be too triggering to you.
